Franklin Soto Leeds LLP focuses on insurance recovery, business litigation, and insolvency litigation.  We typically represent businesses in bringing or defending business tort claims, including fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, unfair competition, and conspiracy, among others.  In the area of insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, we only represent policyholders. Our attorneys have represented both individual and commercial policyholders in the analysis and litigation of matters involving a variety of types of insurance, including Cyber, Commercial General Liability (“CGL”), Directors and Officers (“D&O”), Errors and Omissions (“E&O”), Professional Liability, Excess/Umbrella, and others.  We have extensive experience in these practice areas and, as a result, are frequently asked to assist other attorneys as co-counsel or in other capacities.

Our approach is simple. We work hand-in-hand with our clients to develop a strategy for success as early as possible. This may involve resolving a case before a lawsuit is ever filed or taking a case all the way to a verdict at trial. We execute whatever game plan works best for a particular client.

Our founding partners, Josh Franklin and Cheryl Dunn Soto, have more than 40 years of combined legal experience. After law school, each completed one or more judicial clerkships before entering private practice. Josh’s prior experience includes litigating numerous complex civil cases with a large national law firm, serving as a deputy district attorney, and trying nearly fifty civil and criminal jury trials. Cheryl’s prior experience includes clerking for multiple federal judges, including a Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals judge, and practicing with a premier San Diego insurance recovery law firm.
